After graduating from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence,

Maestro Luca Battini studied traditional techniques (fresco, drawing, oil painting

and egg tempera) with masters from Italy and United States, pupils of Maestro

Pietro Annigoni.

2007 – present: Great cycle of frescoes – Mt. 20 x 11 - for the historical church of San

Vito and Ranieri (1051 AD) in Pisa, on the life of the patron saint, St. Ranieri

2010: Official portrait of the Rector of the University of Pisa, Prof. Marco Pasquali

2011: Portrait of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. Sponsored by the Prefecture of the

Papal Household and personally presented by the artist.

2012: Creation of a bust in bronze reliquary of the Blessed Gerardo de Saxo made for

Sovereign Military Order of Malta – Delegation of Pisa

2013: Creation of a huge altarpiece depicting the resurrection of Christ. Private

chapel – Pisa.

June 2013: Portrait of the Grand Prior of S.M.O. M. Frà Giacomo Della Torre di

August 2013: Presentation at the 9th International Conference of Chemistry

Restoration at Uppsala - SW -, the ongoing experimentation on research on the use

of Persistent Luminescent Pigments in works of art, in collaboration with the

Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry, University of Pisa

2015: Creation of a new reliquary bust of the Blessed Gerardo De Saxo, made for the

of the European University Centre for Cultural Heritage.

November 2015: Acquisition on the collection, by Fondazione Ravello for the

Museum of Torre Maggiore di Villa Rufolo, of “Medieval Knight”. Charcoal and gold

leaf on paper.

March 13 to 18 2016: "The Fresco Workshop in Salerno".  Org. Bell'Arte. This lab was part of the School/Work Alternate Initiative. The video below , produced by the students of the High School for the Arts Sabatini Menna in Salerno, Italy , highlights the key steps of the fresco technique following the Medieval and Renaissance tradition, as carried out during the three-day workshop.
